Fire in District 8: Victims identified
Ho Chi Minh City authorities said they have identified the victims and are urgently investigating the cause of the house fire that killed 3 people in District 8 on April 2.
Regarding the house fire that killed 3 people in District 8 that occurred on the morning of April 2, the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Department,
Ho Chi Minh City Police said they have identified the victims and are urgently investigating the cause of the incident.
Specifically, the 3 people who died in the fire include: Mr. Ho Anh Dung, born in 1979; Ms. Le Tran Bich Trang, born in 1998; and Vo Dang Khoa,
born in 2019 (Ms. Trang's child).
According to a quick report from the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department, at 2:23 a.m. on April 2, the unit received a fire
report at a residential house at 66B and 66C Mac Van Street, Xom Cui Ward, District 8. The two houses are currently being cleared.
The 114 Command Center and the District 8 Area Team sent 3 specialized vehicles and 18 officers and soldiers to the scene to perform their duties.
The fire was completely extinguished at 2:40 a.m. The authorities prevented the fire from spreading to other areas.
When the fire broke out, there were 7 people sleeping in house 66 B (initial information showed there were 8 people, however, 1 person was at work
when the fire broke out), 4 people managed to escape, 3 people were found dead after the fire was extinguished.
Immediately after the fire broke out, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc went to the scene to inspect and direct the
fire response work; visited and encouraged the families of the deceased./.
