Metro Nhon-Hanoi Railway Station has subsidence exceeding the threshold, some households must be relocated
The Nhon-Hanoi Railway Station urban railway project will continue to conduct inspections, assessments and have
solutions to reinforce the ground to ensure the safety of the works.
The Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board (MRB) has just announced the relocation of some houses in Lane 7, Giang Van Minh Street.
Specifically, during the construction of the tunnel section of the Nhon-Hanoi Railway Station urban railway project,
the project uses a modern geotechnical monitoring system to closely monitor ground displacement and subsidence.
In addition to being processed at the field office, monitoring data is also carefully analyzed at the contractor's headquarters in Italy and Korea.
On February 28, data showed that some points had subsidence exceeding the warning threshold, so according to
the principle of the highest safety, the project decided to relocate 11 additional houses (including 17 families) in lane 7,
Giang Van Minh street. Previously, 4 houses (including 7 families) had been temporarily relocated according to the project's original plan.
On the same day, the project coordinated with local authorities to organize a meeting with residents at the People's
Committee of Kim Ma ward to discuss and agree on a plan to relocate affected residents.
Accordingly, the project will support each resident with 16 million VND to ensure stable living conditions during the
temporary resettlement period. Residents all agreed with the project's support policy and closely coordinated to create
conditions for the project to implement construction to ensure progress.
During the time the households are temporarily housed, the project will continue to conduct inspections,
assessments and have solutions to reinforce the ground to ensure the safety of related works and this process is expected to last about a month.
Before starting construction, the investor requested the contractor to purchase third-party liability insurance.
As soon as signs of impact were detected, the insurance company conducted surveys, assessments and statistics to
compensate for damaged houses, if any.
“The project is committed to continuing to closely monitor the situation, listen to people's opinions and coordinate
with relevant parties to ensure safety and transparency in the incident handling process. The project looks forward to
receiving the support and cooperation of the people during this temporary period,” MRB leaders committed.
Previously, at 4:00 p.m. on February 20, during the tunnel drilling process with the TBM1 excavator, a phenomenon of
tunneling additives being sprayed onto the ground surface occurred in the area of lane 7 Giang Van Minh, Kim Ma.
The incident was immediately identified and reported by the contractor's staff assigned to monitor the area.
Upon receiving the news, MRB, together with consultant Systra, contractor Huyndai-Ghella and local authorities (Kim Ma ward)
were present to inspect the scene to coordinate handling according to the response plan./.
